The Kinetic Mechanical Sculpture Workshop is
especially great for:
- After School Program -
for several hours in one day or spread out over several days/weeks (1 hour per day)
- In School Residency -
several models can be constructed by different classes over a weekly period
- Cultural Arts Center / YMCA Program
- for afternoon/evening craft classes or summer programs
- Summer Camp Program -
one or several models can be constructed as one or several days of craft activity
There is also a possibility of
having one of the models constructed as an after-show activity if a performance program is
booked the same day. |
The Benefits of the Workshop are
convenient and educational!
- A "dry" workshop that does not require
special area accommodations for paint or paper mache
- Workshop space considerations can be as simple as
table/desk surfaces with accompanying chairs
- Can be conducted in regular classrooms
- Wide age range - from 4th grade through high
school
- An engaging way for students to practice
practical skills in following instructions and use of simple tools
- All materials provided - easy storage of
unfinished work until next session
- Accompanying educational materials link the
artistic/craft qualities of the workshop to science curriculum studies
