The International Show

Developed in response to requests of audiences who want more puppet mastery demonstrated in other shows, Peter Hart delivers another fascinating show of puppetry skills with "The International Show". The performance employs unique puppets from different cultures to give insight into the world of puppetry, broaden world-view, and expand appreciation of the arts.

The word "deliver" serves as a key concept for the performance as Peter Hart takes on the role of a world traveler and rolls in packing crates of different sizes for the show. The premise is he has just brought a puppet shipment from far off lands to your venue and, together, Mr. Hart and the audience will discover the contents of each crate as they are unpacked for the first time on stage.

As they are quickly opened, the boxes reveal their wondrous puppet contents with Mr. Hart there to bring each puppet character to life. A large world map is used in the production to give students a graphic idea of where countries of origin are for the puppets demonstrated in the performance.

A snake charmer marionette from India that includes audience interaction!

A singing knight & horse from Italy with one of the most beautiful songs your audience has ever heard!

For Grades Pre-K - 1 Bavarian Polka Dancers A charming dance presented by a couple in traditional Bavarian/German trachten costume. Description of the costume is given and the audience claps along with the dance.	For Grades 2 - 6 Authentic shadow puppets from Bali in a demonstration of construction materials & presentation style used.
For Grades K - 6 A dancing Chinese parade dragon that enlist members of the audience in its manipulation! The colorful 18 ft. long Chinese dragon will use 7 volunteers from the audience (6 children, 1 adult) to portray a special dance that tells the story of the flight of the dragon over a field of beautiful flowers. Instruction is given for the rest of the audience to portray the flowers!
